Ryder Garcia
The Jennison Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce that Ryder Garcia, a resident of Sylmar, California, has been awarded his third academic scholarship from our foundation. This scholarship, amounting to $8,000 will assist with his tuition at San Diego State University, where he is pursuing a major in computer science and currently holds a GPA of 3.45.
Ryder was chosen from a highly competitive group of returning winner applicants because of his outstanding academic accomplishments, active participation in extracurricular activities, and dedication to creating a positive impact in his community.
Ryder graduated from San Fernando High School in 2024 where he was a volunteer at the Department of Children and Family Services, was captain of the varsity football team, won multiple scholar athlete awards in track and field and was a member of student government. At San Diego State University, Ryder collaborates with peers to support outreach initiatives, including mentorship and recruitment of underrepresented students. He is a peer coach for the Special Olympics / Unified Sports, and he participates in coastal and watershed cleanups throughout Los Angeles County.
