The Jennison Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce that Lavie Maisha-Wema, from Urbana, Illinois, has been awarded a prestigious $1,600 academic scholarship to assist with her tuition at Oberlin College this fall, where she intends to major in financial economics.

Lavie was chosen from a competitive applicant pool due to her remarkable academic record, active participation in extracurricular activities, and her unwavering commitment to positively impacting her community.

She graduated from Urbana High School on May 21st with an impressive GPA of 5.52. Lavie held the position of Class President, was a four-year Varsity Cross Country athlete, and served as Secretary of Urbana’s National Honor Society Chapter.
