The Jennison Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce that Bemnet Alemayehu, from Missouri City, Texas, has been awarded her second academic scholarship! This year, Bemnet received a scholarship of $7,200 to assist with her tuition at the University of Texas at Austin, where she is pursuing a major in economics and currently maintains a 3.7 GPA.

Bemnet was chosen from a highly competitive group of returning winner applicants, thanks to her outstanding academic accomplishments, active participation in extracurricular activities, and dedication to making a positive difference in her community.

Bemnet graduated from Thurgood Marshall High School in 2025, where she held the positions of President of the Future Farmers of America and the National Honor Society. She was also a two-time state finalist in the Soil Stewardship Public Speaking Contest. Graduating in the top 3% of her class, she received the highest honors and earned her associate's degree through a dual credit program.

At the University of Texas at Austin, Bemnet is actively involved in several organizations: she is a member of the Texas Mock Trial Club; serves as the lead of the finance committee for the Onyx Honor Society; and works as a corporate sponsorship intern for the Bayar Fellowship.
